Underhill thinks Carr will be Saints starter [mod edit: Moore-Carr meeting went well; Saints plan is to keep Carr in 2025 & figure out contract]

When Loomis was asked specifically whether he feels there is still a decision to be made about Carr’s status on the team (with $40 million due in salary and roster bonus), Loomis said: “I think we feel like we've got a guy we can win with, and we're excited about him.”

When asked if the size of Carr’s salary could factor into that, Loomis said, “Well, the size of salaries always factor into everything, right? It's just the nature of the game right now, but, yeah, we'll manage that.”
This is from Trip’s piece on NOF. Maybe I’m just reading this wrong but I don’t see this as a huge endorsement of Carr or his future with the team. I wouldn’t expect him to say “yeah, we’re cutting him” or they’re exploring trade options. I dunno. It feels like a very generic statement that leaves all options on the table. If Carr stays they can say he’s a quality player they can live with. If they do part ways they can point to the financials.

If I had to bet I’d say it looks like he’ll more than likely stay for one more year. However, Loomis left wiggle room here in case something changes.
