This is from Trip’s piece on NOF. Maybe I’m just reading this wrong but I don’t see this as a huge endorsement of Carr or his future with the team. I wouldn’t expect him to say “yeah, we’re cutting him” or they’re exploring trade options. I dunno. It feels like a very generic statement that leaves all options on the table. If Carr stays they can say he’s a quality player they can live with. If they do part ways they can point to the financials.

If I had to bet I’d say it looks like he’ll more than likely stay for one more year. However, Loomis left wiggle room here in case something changes.

Truthfully none of the things said yesterday by Loomis or Moore mean that can't change their mind and cut Carr if they can't figure out a financial deal that makes sense for the team and Carr. If he refuses to do anything to help the cap outside of converting salary to bonus or things get contentious, they could still decide to walk away from Carr even with what was said yesterday.

I don't think it's likely and I do think Carr stays with some sort of rework on his contract, but if talks break down I think Loomis and Moore left some small amount of room to move on.
