Patriotswire writer proposes trade idea for Chris Olave

Normally I would agree but not if the player is more or less at their lowest value. I just don't think what we can get for him this year is worth not having him for a year and if he is healthy we can get a lot more at the trade deadline or next year if we pick up the 5th year option. Yes, you risk not getting whatever you would get this year but that's likely around a 3rd or 4th. I'd rather have one more year of Olave and a chance for it to move up the a 2nd or 1st even with the risk attached to it rather than just get a 3rd or 4th this year.
Fair. Just absolutely worth mentioning the gamble, you can take a 2nd now or keep him but he's always one hit away from losing his entire value. Also do you want to pay him when he's one hit away?
And, we have to look at this in the context of the plan the team has for this year. I think they should let Carr go, but since they aren't going to do that, they need to put the best team on the field. So, in my mind, if you are keeping Carr, you need to keep the best WR on the team even if there is risk that he gets hurt and tanks his value before you trade him.
Oh I absolutely agree our FO is completely delusional into thinking we can compete this year and instead of retooling for the future will keep Olave and try (and fail) to win. This is unfortunately completely true.

I would much rather move on from Carr and trade Olave to build for the future rather than continuing whatever we have been.
