Yeah, I'm not happy with the Carr decision or talk about spending in free agency, although Underhill and Tripp tempered that a bit saying that Mickey still says he's in soft reset mode and will be careful to keep working on getting the cap right so I don't think the plan is for old high priced vets. But, yeah, Garrette would not be the move. Hopefully if they spend in free agency it won't be crazy and they do deals for young players with big upside like the did with Gay last year. That didn't work out great, but it was the right idea. Even Young would have been a good idea had they not added void years to his contract.
