Jaxson Dart: I've tried to model my game after Jalen Hurts.

if we didn't restructure Carr, then this would be a likely scenario and a seemingly genius plan. Carr starting assures that we finish with at least 4-5 wins. To get Nuss, its going to take a top 5 pick. He's going to have a monster season in 25. Hes got the most pro-ready arm, where he lacks is pocket mobility and awareness. Last year was his first year starting at LSU, so i expect him to improve his weakness and make a huge Burrow/JD like jump.

This just isn’t something you can plan for though. For one, you’d be relying on a certain level of performance to justify the selection as well as to satisfy the scouting aspect of his abilities, but you’d also be having to plan on having a record that’s within draftable range for the player, a range you don’t know as of right now.

This is something that would have to play out by accident, not with foresight.

Now if this was some “can’t miss” type Peyton Manning going into his senior year thing, or like Trevor Lawrence or Andrew Luck, sure you can somewhat safely plan to lose every game to land the number 1 spot, but even in that case, what if he tears up his knee?

Nuss certainly isn’t that guy and maybe he becomes it, but odds say he probably won’t, so you can’t really plan for it.

Heck, even without Carr I don’t think we have a “First pick in the draft” roster.
