Ross Jackson’s biggest takeaways from Loomis, Moore and Ireland at the combine

People say this, but we also have to keep in mind that it was much more normal to stay all four years when Archie played, and also, Peyton and Eli are Archie’s boys, and they both strike me as the “Aw shucks, gotta listen to dad” types…Arch possibly isn’t getting that same pressure from Coop and may not be as inclined to do what Uncle Archie tells him to do.

He may very well stay, but I just wanted to point out that some different dynamics are at play here.

Paw Paw Archie. But sure, there are different dynamics, but those dynamics don't all favor going to the NFL early. You have to add in that Arch is also making a lot of NIL money and his family has a lot of money (including Cooper). He's a Newman grad who grew up in the Garden District who now has NIL deals. He's not hurting for money.

I saw an article today about how this draft might not be as strong because all the NIL deals mean that some highly rated kids that might have normally come out stayed in college because of NIL deals. And I'd imagine that if Arch is good this year, the UT alums would be happy to come up with $3 million to $5 million to get him to stay for a couple more years. If Michigan can pay $5 million for a High School senior. UT would certainly pay that for Arch to stay if he's as good as people think he's going to be.

Also, I would think Cooper and Arch would listen to Archie, Eli, and Payton regarding QB development. And I think one of things they likely know is that too many college QBs are coming out with too few snaps under their belt and the way the NFL is now you won't get the time you need to get the snaps you need in the NFL.
