College player closest to your heart
A bit of a random reference, but I can remember back to the early '80s and Reggie Reginelli, the RB at Tulane who had a memorably good game in Tulane's famous upset of LSU in 1982.
As for LSU players, I'd say Rohan Davey. He had the most insanely accurate deep ball I've ever seen. Once randomly met him in the concourse of the Dome during a Saints game when he was still at LSU. Went on to back up Brady in New England for a few years.
Non-La.-connected players, I'd have to say a tie between Turner Gill and Tommie Frazier, both Nebraska QBs in the '80s and '90s. Probably the two best veer-option QBs to ever play college ball, mainly because they were good throwers of the football as well.
