Mickey Loomis’ GM duties

The Texans, Vikings and Eagles are contenders. They are right in the middle of their window of opportunity. This is when you take chances. Not when you are beaten down, have an old roster and are in need of a rebuild. It was obvious prior to Sean's last season that we needed a change of direction and strategy. Instead we have doubled down and are stuck in mediocrity with the can still kicked another season or two out. While I point the finger at Mickey, I think it's Lauschca and Gayle that insist on this idea of being competitive so they can keep selling tickets. They are afraide of fan fall off during a rebuild. It would energize me actually. Knowing we would be potentially headed in a healthy direction, rather than kicking the can.
Can you name any players that the Saints wanted to sign or keep, but couldn't because of how they manage the cap?

I can't think of any players. If the Saints are able to sign and keep the players they want, then the way they manage the cap is not a problem.

The Saints haven't had a cap management problem the last few seasons. The problem the Saints have had is that Allen made bad decisions regarding who to get and keep, how to use players, how to coach and develop players, and how to keep players healthy.

If Moore does a better job in anyone of those areas, the team will get better even with the same cap management.
