Jets taking calls for WR Davante Adams……….. Adams expected to be released if no trade

I disagree for several reasons. First, I think Adams is on the decline. He wasn't the same player last year with the Raiders or the Jets. Second, he seems to be getting injured more often. Third, if we are going to spend what it takes to sign Adams we should spend that money on the DL, at Guard, or at Tackle. Fourth, there are cheaper options in the draft for an X. And, fifth, if you want to spend money on a free agent WR, go get Tee Higgins who would help you this year and in future years.

I should have included this in my previous reply, so I am sorry for quoting you twice here, however I can't help but wonder what gives you the impression that this player is declining and getting injured more and more often.

He's missed three games in the past four seasons, all last year.

Last year, despite spending some time with a team with no QB, spending time with a new team getting acclimated, and also missing the three games I just pointed out, he still had 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Extrapolate that out to a have full 17 games, which is his norm, and that's 103 receptions for 1,290 yards and about 10 touchdowns, all in line with his career averages of 99 receptions for 1,228 yards and 11 touchdowns.

While I do acknowledge that he's likely to start tailing off soon, I still think it is disingenuous to call him a declined player with injury problems that way you've characterized him.
