Underhill: I think everyone involved knows Carr cannot play this year at his current salary

Then we tell him take a pay cut and we spend it however we want or he gets cut. You don't let a soon to be 34 year-old QB with only 2 years left on his contract dictate personnel decisions. If he wants to take a pay cut to help build a better team around him, great. But he should not get to dictate how the money is spent. Any cut he takes would be better spent on OL, DL, or TE (Holker is the only one likely to be healthy to start the season).

That's your opinion though.

What if Carr tells this to the Saints brass, and they actually like the player (which based on previous year's tea leaves, they do) and would be willing to make moves to accommodate?

I mean, you yourself would do the tough guy thing with Carr, but the Saints front office itself may not have that same mindset.
