I would say the eagles are now in our 2017-2020 time frame when we were winning and had a superbowl taken from us. We are dealing with the aftermath of those years compounded by a Covid year where the cap went down.
The question is how are the eagles going to look in 2027 when a 30 year old Barkley has a 21.4 mil cap number on a void year? Do they extend him into his 30’s and cause bigger problems? Or eat that big cap number for a player who isn’t on their team? How many more players do they have to do that for over the next couple years? That’s the question. 2027 isn’t looking good for them. 200+ mil in cap liabilities with 20 players under contract.
