RB Jamaal Williams released (1.59m savings)

I mean you can think whatever you want but for a team to not offer their lead back ANY contract during their prime years tells me all that I need to know.

They knew his success was dominated by the OL and getting an upgrade would be easy. And they were right.

I don't think he was ever a great RB, but he was an above average to good RB before he got here. But we did overpay a bit because he was coming off of a great statistical year that was boosted by a great OL and lots of goal line carries.

Part of the problem is that we had a terrible run scheme and no OL his first year and a terrible OL for most of his second year. But, beyond that, it looked like he lost a step or two this year which is always the danger with RBs in their late 20s. You just never know when they hit the age wall. A few make it fine past 30, some make it to 30, but some don't even hit 30 before hitting the RB wall. It's why I really like taking RBs in the 3rd or 4th round every 2 or 3 years so you can churn them and turn them over before they lose it.
