A few thoughts…

- Our cap situation wouldn’t be entirely different because the biggest impact on it, Derek Carr, wouldn’t be present, so our current “problem” would probably be just the same.

- We have no idea what type of contract we were offering Watson. It certainly was nothing like Cleveland’s offer or else their last minute swoop-in would not have worked.

- Who knows how Watson would have translated to our environment? We have seen several QBs look like they not belong in the league in one place while thriving in another in recent years.

- Who knows what players we would have signed or not signed had we had Watson?

I’m glad we dodged the bullet nonetheless, but to frame it the way you have seems a bit, disingenuous.
