Like I said in my now deleted thread. The fanbase is disenchanted w/ Carr and Carr the fanbase. He’s here because he’s being paid, that’s always been clear and was made more clear by him declining to take a paycuy.

He hasn’t embraced the city and the city will continue to not embrace him. Winning will make him tolerable but it won’t make him more liked

Peter Finney once called Mike Ditka a “visitor to New Orleans.” That feels like it fits here. At least for now. Carr might not even be interested in connecting with the fan base at this point. He might just be here to play football and get stats and try to win games. If he connects with his teammates and his coaches, and that leads to better production, that’s ultimately all that matters.
Can you provide a link to a source that someone on the Saints staff said they wanted Carr to take a paycut.

All I ever saw were people speculating about how the Saints were going to ask him to take a paycut or that they should ask him to take a pay cut.

Loomis said Carr was staying and they had to work out his contract. People assumed that meant the Saints were asking him to take a paycut.

There are a lot of possible things that could have been worked out on his contract that aren't paycuts.
