Patriots trade DT Davon Godchaux to the Saints for 2026 7th round pick

In 2023 he played more snaps over the Nose, in 2024 he took moresnaps as a DT. Last year he had his best year w/ run stops. The schemes look slightly different. He seemed to do more penetrating in 2024 than 1 gap and a 1/2.

For reference, Sheldon Rankins was just signed a 1 year deal worth 7 million. Godchaux hits us for 5. Not bad

This article goes into depth about Staley's defense. Where do you see Godchaux playing?

Coming out of LSU, he was projected as a 3-4 DE at 6'3" 310lbs, but now it looks like he's 330lbs.

I am curious if they seem him as a 330lb guy now in the middle or have him drop some weight and go back to the 3-4 DE he was coming into the league. I think we are back to having coaches with a vision who can teach and develop.
