Instead, I would try to see what I had on the roster, correct the cap, and avoid signing too many players. Then, pick my franchise quarterback in the high draft the following year, assemble the rest of the team around him, and return strong in 26 or 27. We are simply continuing to harm our prospects for success in the future. I wish I were mistaken.
