Marquez Valdes-Scantling signs with Seahawks to 1-year deal worth up to $5.5 million

So I'd say that the salary-focused ideal is a constant churn of young, cheap, effective and eminently replaceable role players, but I guess that at a certain point in roster construction you need to include someone who has some experience and proven ability (to whatever degree) to mix in with your young protégés/canon fodder.
It’s not smart, and I know this, but I’d rather replace all wideouts on the team not named Olave Shaheed or Means….with UDFA’s and draft picks. Kind of trying to catch lightning in a bottle, whereas we know what we (don’t) have with the roster bottom churners already on the team.
