I'd Feel Better about the Saints if...

I'm not an idiot, but I do absolutely detest the constant whining on this forum.. It's why a lot of us have not been around much the past year or two. It's as if a very significant portion of Saints fans have no clue that the NFL is a competitive business with parity as it's foundational model or that winning in the NFL is hard.

Too many want to blame the strategy that led us to 15 years of phenomenal success for not continuing when a couple of the key ingredients changed. We've got people here who are under the delusion that the salary cap and implications of years of successful strategy could just be ignored after Brees/Payton. Others are seemingly ignorant to the fact that we have been plagued by injury the past 2 years for sure.

Whatever crud you posted above wasn't too useful so I guess I'll just go back to ignoring the whining and silly takes and wait for the ebb to subside.
15 years of "phenomenal" success is a little generous. There was one year that was phenomenal, which was before the cap strategy took root. In fairness there were a few years of above average success that were thwarted only by a no-call, a bad defensive coaching call and a bad play by a safety. I mean one could argue that the Loomis strategy held the team back more than it delivered other than those few years, especially given we had one of the greatest quarterbacks to play the game in his prime. But for the most part, it was great fun to watch and to be a fan at that time. Not to whine or complain, its just a fact which is obvious, admittedly in hindsight, that Loomis clung to the strategy 2-3 years too long and really whiffed on too many player personnel and contract decisions.
