I'd Feel Better about the Saints if...

To not expect whining, confusion, or concerns regarding our team is shocking. This IS a fan forum. Not every post you will agree with or like and you don’t have to bc that’s your prerogative. Personally, I welcome all opinions, even if I don’t agree with them. If the state of our team is lacking, then tell me how you really feel. It’s healthy if it’s within the forum’s guidelines

The state of our team is that we all knew with the retirement of Brees that thins would no longer be the same. We could not expect a magical continuance of 5000 yard passing seasons and anyone with half a freaking brain knew that the win now strategy would come with bumps. If I'm not mistaken you, me and 100s of others here predicted it and we were correct.

Frankly, I'd rather have been bounced by the stupidity of the bad calls than have gone 3 and 13 in 20.

My opinion is that we were numerous injuries away last year from competing, but the rug got pulled and DA was simply not the coach to guide us through that nightmare.

I'll also posit that last year we had a 10 win minimum team without as many injuries and DA's choice of D staff couldn't deliver what he, himself, was consistently able to do. Blame the old cap strategy for a lack of playmakers if you want, but we made plays. When the D was solid, the O was handing out 3 and outs behind a depleted line and a rookie or never will be was playing QB with AK, 7, out. There was no OL due to injury and we lost both of our WRs and were forced to play with street free agents. Carr was hurt bad enough to not play and while he may be an animatron as a human, he's also tough and competent enough that given .7 seconds and someone to catch, he can win.

And, of course, despite every freaking person on this forum who complains about Loomis Loomising, here we are with free agents, signings and room as we look towards 26.

Color me as one of those old guys who has seen pitiful Saints football and one who thinks a few bounces makes all the difference in the world when playing a game designed and run to produce close outcomes and parity.
