I only started watching nascar around 2010 or so. It definitely has a reputation for drunk redneck somewhat racist fans and ownership. A dumbed down poorer version of racing. But I’ve seen it change a lot in the years I’ve been watching. More road course. Running some of the same tracks as indycar etc. and then bringing drivers in from other countries and backgrounds. AK as a spokesperson. Micheal Jordan owning a team. It’s definitely not the NASCAR of the 70s.
I stopped watching after Jeff Gordon retired. But as for Kamara..last season he posted some shirts that were being sold on Nascar.com with his "AK" and they were gone. They eventually got more back in but I never went back and got one.
