2027 will be the Year of The Big Absorb for all of the current-2026 dead money to absorb into the $80-100+ million cap space that’ll be available then.
We can expect McCoy, Chase Young, Granderson, Ruiz, Johnson, and Kamara to be the quick restructures in Mar 2026. They’ll clear $49 million cap space. Kamara will probably be a reworked deal/paycut with the same amount of cap savings ($8M).And there it is. With 10 voiding contracts, we have 36 players for 2026 and already $4 million over the cap.
