If Jeanty, T-McMillan and Will Johnson are on the board at #9, who are you taking?

Did you read his last sentence? Frank Davis is about the only person I have ever heard say that. It was just a silly news segment branding, but now everyone thinks we say New Orleans that way, but virtually no one actually from N.O. does.

It’s cringe anytime I hear an out of towner say it, trying to sound cool or like they’re in the know. I even heard it said on a movie once with one of those exaggerated Southern accents they like to depict us with in film that has the whole country thinking we speak like a bunch of backwoods country hicks. 🙄

“You don’t sound like you’re from New Orleans.” Umm, sir, WTH are you talking about??? lol
I'm not from NO, and never visited. But I have seen and heard NO pronounced "Nawlins"....never new that was an outsider pronunciation, and always thought it sounded stupid, so I'm happy NOT to pronounce it that way.

So I'm wondering what IS the correct way to pronounce NO? According to the locals! Spelled phonetically, with caps for syllabic emphasis, I have heard "new ORlins", "new orLEENS", and "new orleANS". Which is correct? If none of those, please provide the correct pronunciation. I'll say it that way, and dutifully correct anyone who says it wrong north of the Mason Dixon in south-central PA. May not have a huge impact, but ya gotta start somewhere right?
