Quinn Ewers met the Saints at the Combine [Mar 24: Saints host dinner with Quinn Ewers] [April 1: Saints hosting Ewers on Top-30 Visit]

Ewers has undeniable arm talent, though he was not accurate on deep throws the past two years, except most notably at Bama in 2023.

He is slow at making reads.

He did not play with tempo. The scoring was down against top defenses.

He is not mobile.

He totally herpa derpa'd the last drive against Ohio State, though Sark's playcalls contributed to it. He came a hair's breath of beating Washington in the 2023 playoff, but he he threw a short pass in the end zone to Adonai Mitchell that was broken up in tight coverage. That's two years in a row, Texas' season ended with Ewers failing a final drive to win.

Him coming out after the season and saying he played through an oblique was lame, because it was obvious he was hurt and most of us wanted Arch to start the final games of the season. However, I support Sark letting Ewers play. Ewers' recruitment was the turning point for Sark and Texas getting good, so Ewers deserved the starts.

Arch is playing at least two years at Texas, and maybe 3 given the family history, so the Arch dreamers should tap their brakes.

Ewers to me is a 3rd or 4th round pick, but Sark ran one of those use everybody/Sean Payton-type offenses. If a coach can get him into a system and have him work with 3 receivers and 2 running backs instead of 7 receivers and 3 running backs, then he might elevate.

If he's never eaten at Fonda San Miguel, I don't want him.
