There's a QB in this draft who's not being discused that will be better than the guys drafted ahead of him

Seems like the Saints are doing a LOT of homework on QBs for this draft, widely considered to be "weak" or "average" at best. We KNOW they've interviewed Ward, Sanders, and Ewers (possibly others). We KNOW they sent a large contingent (including CKM) to Ward's pro day in Miami. We KNOW they're hosting Ewers for dinner. Read an article yesterday about Jaxson Dart and a coach at Ole Miss (can't remember the name....wasn't the HC) who commented something to the effect that "Saints have done a LOT of homework on Dart". Saints are notoriously tight-lipped, so this is only the tip of the iceberg I believe.

I understand due diligence and trying to be prepared for all options presented, but I'm not enamored with any of these QBs. Especially Ward or Sanders, for varying reasons. Ward will cost too much to move up; and I don't think Sanders will stay in NO beyond his rookie contract. And Dart and Ewers both are less "complete" than Ward and Sanders, IMO. I'm hoping NO QBs at #9! After that, I suppose the right QB with the right pick is fair game. If CKM likes a QB, who am I to disagree? If CKM thinks he can fix flaws, tweak mechanics, and teach their brain how to process available info, give the HC and de facto OC what he wants! His tenure is riding on it!

OR....is due diligence the cover story, and our QB interest is fake? Most can agree, DC4 days are numbered. Not the problem, but not the solution; and too expensive to NOT be a solution. That leaves Rattler and Haener. Or does it? All this interest in 2025 draft QBs isn't inspiring confidence that CKM sees something worthy to work with. Or maybe this is the new strategy....draft a mid-round or late-round QB every year, and develop them as best as they can be, making the Saints a QB factory like the Packers and Patriots were in the 2000s and 2010s?

One thing is for certain. We've got a new player at the poker table, with no history, trends, tips or tells...at least none that can be discerned. It's going to be interesting to get a read on HIS preferences. Can't wait....tired of speculating!
