Saints met Shedeur Sanders at Combine [Saints are odds favorite +270 to draft Shedeur] [QB is favorite for Saints 1st drafted position]

Man even looking beyond the Sanders dad situation and the potential distraction, I'm really struggling to "convince myself" that Sanders would be an upgrade over Rattler especially when factoring in the high draft pick it would take to get him. I've been doing some deep dives on Sanders full games. Sure there are many plays that he is dominating and putting up big stats (against inferior teams in the "new" Big 12). However, there are so many bad sacks taken where he has options (he was sacked 42 times this past season), but holds the ball too long. Many of his deeper throws look to be underthrown to the point that Hunter and Horn simply are just better than the guys covering them and bail Sanders out making great plays on the ball. Sanders had 10 interceptions on the season playing against weak competition. Had he played in the SEC/Big 10, I'd imagine that number jumps even higher. I can only imagine what will happen in the NFL. He also lacks the arm talent that Rattler has. Sanders arm is somewhere between average/above average. His athleticism doesn't look much different than Rattler. I'd argue Rattler is better at escaping pressure even if Sanders "might" have better straight line speed. His final game against BYU was eye opening. It was one of 2 ranked teams he played this past season (Kansas State the other ranked game). He was rough in that game. Hunter made some plays to help his statline, but overall a very concerning look into what he may be as he transitions to the NFL level.
