That's most quarterbacks though. Good quarterbacks don't make bad teams good. And in this day and age, there ain't no quarterbacks elevating everything around them; this is why we always say they need more weapons..lol. If we bash Purdy, we have to bash Matt Stafford, because what makes him different? The Lions didn't see a single playoff win with him as their starter and we blame everything around him. He goes to a ready made team that went to a Super Bowl a few years earlier, they load up on free agents, and bam! Stafford wins a Super Bowl. We too often bash those quarterbacks who benefit while not realizing that nearly every QB today reaps the same benefits.
I agree with you for the most part, that trait that the greats have to elevate those around them, the Brees', the Mannings, Montana, Elway, Brady, etc... Might be one of the hardest things in sports to find.
