Would you pay Brock Purdy $55 million a year to be Saints franchise QB? [mod edit]

This thread is saddening. A lot of these people didn’t want Drew Brees. Cheered when Dennis Allen was named Head Coach, and said Payton was washed up and is a bad coach and laughed at Denver thinking those draft picks with Dennis Allen as head coach was better then having Sean Payton as head coach.

Brock Purdy is a top 10 QB in this league (usually so far) with sound accuracy, pocket presence and pre-snap defensive reads and he’s only 25 years old. He’s also one of the only QBs in the league leading and operating a west coast timing based passing offense. He’s already performing as good as Mahomes and Allen more often the not. Sophomore slumps for QBs are an extremely common thing for career starting QBs and that’s what Purdy just experienced. Even Drew Brees had a down sophomore year in the NFL and Peyton Manning a down freshman year. Someone even said they would take Stafford over Purdy, yet Stafford may be on his last year and had a bad 4th year after an exceptional 3rd year and Purdy is only 25. The egg headed logic is utterly dumbfounding.

It’s just not surprising given that so many people who cheered on Dennis Allen being hired as head coach would also pass up having Purdy as a franchise QB who’s only 25 and going to grow and become much better for the likes of Carr, Rattler or drafting a potential disappointment.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these same people wanted to draft Sanders who played against bad defenses all year, throwing to a heisman trophy winner and still got schooled by Nebraska and BYU defenses.

And just for clarity, in his down year at age 25 he was still the 13th best performing starting QB in the NFL for 2024 and BARELY finished behind Jayden Daniels who most of you drool over and he did it with one of the most injured offenses in the league.

Super weird logic. It’s almost as if most of you never watch football outside of the Saints and throw opinions out like flinging manure at a wall to see what sticks.
