Would you pay Brock Purdy $55 million a year to be Saints franchise QB? [mod edit]

That was almost 10 years ago and you're talking "not a fair comparison" lmao. Just so happened to be the last time he's even made the playoffs lol.

Like it or not Purdy is part of that Superbowl roster and took them that team to the Superbowl. If it's easy why couldn't Trey Lance, Nick Mullens, CJ Beathard, or Brian Hoyer do it? How come Carr couldn't win a playoff game with a Superbowl winning coach in Jon Gruden?

I brought back 10 years ago because of the age context you brought up.

I didn't say Purdy was a bad QB, so no need to bring up a bunch of bad QBs that couldn't bring the 49ers to the Super Bowl; not sure what the point of that was. Jimmy G. and Nick Foles both took their very well-constructed teams to Super Bowls too; does this mean they're suddenly great QBs?

Perhaps Carr was on his way to winning a playoff game with Jon Gruden, but Gruden got fired in what was set to be their best year together after a long rebuild of a very poor roster.

But I guess we are now back on the “It’s all on the QB and no one else” narrative. Nope, coaching doesn’t matter, roster construction doesn’t matter, injuries don’t matter, having a defense never ranked better than the bottom third doesn’t matter…nope, it’s all on the QB and QB only to break through all of that and also form a new organizational culture in general overall all by himself. 😂
