Doesn't mean it's not a terrible decision. There's no reason whatsoever to ever have more than a couple thousand in cash, and even that is stretching it, no matter how rich you are. It would be stupid for Warren Buffet to leave $5,000 laying around, because not only is it not safe, but that money is losing value.
