“The First Team To Ever Host Its Own Super Bowl” (1 Viewer)

Wow, what a coincidence that the year that there can’t be too many fans at the game, the home team is in the Super Bowl. I mean, any other year, the city would take a big financial hit from the lack of traveling fans. But not much traveling this year anyway. That is such an amazing coincidence. The NFL couldn’t have planned it any better. But of course they don’t plan those types of things.

Insofar as mental gymnastics go, you are jacked my friend

First 5 seed to beat a 1 seed in a conference championship game as well. This is the Bucs year.

I’ve never seen a team escorted to the SB the way Tampa was this year. Stuffing the offense with a bunch of big names to make it believable to the casual observer, despite the fact that they were all incredibly washed up. And all this stuffing-of-the-SB-host-city’s-team’s-roster started right after the pandemic. The NFL is a sick joke.

Isnt the Super Bowl location decided four years in advance or something like that? It wasn’t decided after Brady was traded so in the words of My Cousin Vinny, your argument doesn’t hold water.

So you clown me without an explanation to the clown making you the clown. That’s a keyboard warrior move, state your reason because what I said is true. Don’t hide...cmon now. Go ahead, I’m waiting

From my point of view, there arent a whole lot of bright spots in the Covid pandemic.. However, one big bright spot is that, with the onslaught of stories we’re about to see about Tampa being the first team to host a Super Bowl in their own stadium (with a QB who JUST got there) is that, due to the virus, their home field advantage will be negligable, and there will always be an enormous asterisk next to this “achievement”.. Honestly, in normal times most attendees of Super Bowls are just corporate shills anyway with no allegiance to either team, but I’m happy that Tampa wont have much of an advantage.

Yea, i am petty af

Not so fast. They are planning to give away tickets to health care workers that have had both Vaccine shots before Jan 19th.

I understand that the goal is a full stadium and mostly the home crowd.

Edit

Seems the NFL kiboshed the city's plans and are capping the attendance at 22,000 including 7500 health workers.

I’m happy that Tampa wont have much of an advantage.

They have won three straight on the road with half empty stadiums. Doesn’t seem to have bothered them any.

Their biggest problem is the Chiefs. They have played some lights out defense so far and they are gonna have to kick that up another notch against KC.

Are you crazy?! LOLOLOL

Man, I normally agree with your posts but I WOULD HAVE LOVED FOR THE SAINTS TO HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TEAM TO HOST A SUPERBOWL IN THEIR OWN STADIUM!!

The city would be ablaze in a good way. And COVID makes this accomplishment that much tougher. Any team that wins it, deserves the extra accolades.

But to be fair, the Saints would find a way to lose that SB probably by lining up for the game icing FG from the 3 yard line on 4th down with 13 seconds left, and up 6 to go up 9, only to have the kick blocked and returned 90 yards for the game-winning TD.
