Wow, that crosswind was tremendous. Why were they given clearance to land, I wonder? It was tossing that plane around like it was a toy. Yeesh...

I would have been busy for a couple of days!

We've never had an airliner accident at my airport, but we all know its not a matter of if, but when.

Shouldn't the pilot of said to hell with this well before the wing touched? Great save but terrible decision to wait so long from what I could tell.

For those with a fear of flying,

I help run a fear of flying website that is 100% free and has major airline pilots that volunteer their time for free to answer questions.

I am a business traveler and have taken about 70 flights per year for nearly 17 years. It's a phobia that many of us can never overcome.

Visit us at getonthatplane.com.

I hope this doesn't violate any TOS.

Excellent post MadScientist.

As an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, I am trained for the worst possible scenario. To keep from stressing out about situations that we cannot control, we often use humor as a deflection of the gravity of what we may eventually experience. I hope I never have to use my training in a real life situation.

We all have our fears, and playing to others was not my intention. In all reality, air travel is very safe, and instances like in the video/picture are few and far between, especially in the U.S.
