03-03-22 Scouting Combine starts today.....Who's watching? (1 Viewer)

Burrow has 9 inch hands and heā€™s done pretty well holding onto the ball as much as heā€™s been sacked.
Once the NFL ā€œexpertsā€ get something stuck in their head as being ā€œfactā€ to a cause, there has to be a stat that shows up to break the fact they already had planted in their little brains. None of the NFL ā€œexpertsā€ want to be the one to jump out on to a limb to be the first to test that limb. Know what I mean? šŸ˜‰

Reference for WR discussion. He wasn't on the roster for last season, but was an under the radar signing after the season ended. His measureables, ability and skillset has to be considered when looking at WRs in the draft. If he was in this WR class, he would be 1st in 3 categories (Vertical/Bench/20-yard shuttle, tied for 1st in 2 categories (hand size/broad jump) and in 4th for 40 time at 4.33 only .04 behind 1st.

Kirk Merritt
Height: 72"
Weight: 215lbs (Pro Day) He looks like he's put on more muscle since he's been in the NFL.
RBS: 2.99 (based on 72/215)
Hand size: 10.25"
40 Time: 4.33
Vertical: 45.5"
Broad Jump: 135"
20 Yard Shuttle: 4.02 (Quickest on the roster, almost 2 tenths quicker than Harris)
3-Cone: N/A
Bench Press: 225lbs/23 reps

Jahan Dotson has the potential to be the best WR in this class. You can quote me on that
I got your back on that assertion. I've watched a LOT of Penn State games and Dotson is a threat to score every time he touches the ball, and he's clutch. The PSU offense had a substandard QB, and no other playmakers besides Dotson. Defenses KNEW Dotson was the target and still couldn't stop him. I'd be ecstatic to see him in Black & Gold!

For the life of me, I canā€™t understand how is not getting more love?!?! Itā€™s possible bc heā€™s only 5ā€™11 and 185 lbs or so, but this dude has some serious technique and footwork. Excellent hands and really good speed. Knows how to find soft spots in the defense and gains separation with ease. And you are most definitely correct, he is a threat to take it the distance every time.

The athletic profile (outside of the forty looks pretty average)...esp at 5'10 1/2" and 178 lbs. I do agree that the tape paints a different picture.

Love seeing Strief coaching lineman with his saints gear on.

yeah, he's a smallish receiver, but he's ideal for the slot. I don't care about his measurables. Measurables are for guys with potential, but very little tape. Tape is for talent; measurables is for potential. Dotson has a LOT of tape.

Like I said earlier, he was the ONLY playmaker that PSU had on offense. Defenses KNEW it, keyed in on him, and he STILL made plays. Dude is furreal! I doubt he's on the Saints radar with that RAS score, but he's the exception not the rule. I'd be THRILLED to see him in B&G. Size be damned...he's a home-run hitter who just can't be stopped.
