#1 Ranked Offense -- first time? (1 Viewer)

After this week's game, we are still the #1 ranked offense in yardage (pending tonight's Phillie game of course) by a 15 yard average over the second place team, Phillie. Just wondering, have we ever had this ranking this late in the season? Also, has a Saints team ever finished the year with the number 1 ranked offense, or is this a potential franchise first?

We are fifth in scoring.

Our defense has shot up to 12th after yesterday's good performance. Cool!

Yardage-wise the highest the Saints ever finished a season with was 6th back in '79. The best Brooks and company posted was 8th in 2001.

Just from a talent standpoint, this is the best offense the Saints have ever had.

manning, muncie, galbreath, childs, chandler, et al were pretty good
all but galbreath made the pro bowl in 1979
