here's the premise:
you get to live as a billionaire for 1 year - buy whatever, travel wherever, do whatever - you want for nothing (but you won't be able to keep anything)
but
first, you pay with this by a year in prison - you can't be killed or contract life-threatening illness, but that's all the protection you get ('regular' american prison - not Midnight Express or anything)

you can figure out how friends or family is part of the equation

Exactly what i was gonna say.. why would i trade a year of freedom for a year as a Billionaire, if i then just had to go back to square one? AND i’d know what i was missing; at least now i dont know what it’s like to be a Billionaire, and i’m fairly content most days.

Indeed. It could be a fun exercise. But considering I have a wife and 4 kids, I'm not giving them up for 2 years. I don't need to know what it's like. I'm more about having the ability to be there for and support my family over the long haul. I don't even need to be a billionaire. I'm content with just being able to pay my bills and maybe go visit Korea with the family once. I've never seen my wife's country in 22 years of marriage.

Definitely the top of my bucket list.

If this was in the form of a "genie wish", in the sense that I went back to the way things were before (E.g. no one knows I was a billionaire or went to prison (no criminal record, I kept the same job, etc.), then probably yes.

If it was something realistic, then no. Because I would have to find a new job, etc.

The premise is not very clear. "Living like a billionaire" and "getting whatever/travel wherever/doing whatever for nothing" aren't the same thing.

Buying whatever for nothing? Does that mean I will be granted use of everything I want at no cost?

Doing whatever for nothing, what do you mean by that? Can I kill people and never be charged? Can I start in Hamilton?
