12-year-old US student arrested for plot to kill classmates | NDTV.com
Looks like we avoided one. Not all of these kids are going to be dumb enough to give themselves away ahead of time. Thankfully he wasn't simply ignored.
They don't say where he got these items, or who they belong to. No mention of parents or anything.
Something is wrong with our kids. The usual suspects will be thrown out as explanations like bullying, home life, movies, video games, gun shows (apparently they sell to 12 year olds, right?), etc. Is it really that simple?
Update from below:
A 12-year-old middle school student in California has been detained for plotting to shoot 23 classmates and a teacher as officials seized a cache of rifles and handguns from his home.

On Saturday, the 7th grade student was taken into custody and admitted to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation.
Detectives believe the boy planned to act alone and say there is no evidence to suggest anyone else was involved in making the threats.

Update from below:
Kid did not have access to any weapons as outlined in this article...
The captain said that none of the weapons seized were assault weapons, and that the 12-year-old did not have access to them.
Funny how a British news organization knows more about this than we do.
