I wish I could find a draft one that site that has us getting Ellis, the Bengals always take him.

OK...next, someone please go to all the sites and document which player each site has us taking. Then make a percentage ranking for each player so we can see what the consensus pick for us at 10 is...I would do it but too busy.

Thanks in advance!

I know you were joking, but hey, what can I tell ya? It interested me, so I went ahead and did it.

Of the 184, 23 of them were either broken links, links to 2007 mocks, the mock that was supposed to be there wasn't there anymore, stuff like that. One was a link to one of Mike Detillier's Best-Players Lists, but that isn't really a mock.

161 of them actually had real-live 2008 mocks where they were supposed to be. Of those 161, 9 of them had us taking Malcolm Jenkins and 3 had us taking James Laurinaitis, neither of which are actually in the draft this year. So I dropped those out.

That leaves 149. Of those 149 a good-sized handful of them (I'll guess somewhere around 20) had the Saints picking at all kinds of places other than 10. One of them had us picking 31. But if they had us picking a 2008-eligible player, I left them in even if they had us picking at some crazy draft slot other than 10.

Mike Jenkins 26 (17.45%)
Leodis McKelvin 22 (14.76%)
Aqib Talib 21 (14.09%)
Kenny Phillips 20 (13.43%)
Keith Rivers 17 (11.41%)
Sedrick Ellis 8 (5.37%)
Dan Connor 6 (4.02%)
Antoine Cason 6 (4.02%)
Ryan Clady 3 (2.01%)
Kentwan Balmer 3 (2.01%)
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 2 (1.34%)
Reggie Smith 2 (1.34%)

One-offs (0.67% each)
Darren McFadden 1 (Fred Jones @ Huddle Report) :hihi:
Malcolm Kelly 1
Derrick Harvey 1
DaJuan Morgan 1
Jake Long 1
Vernon Gholston 1
Fred Davis 1
Frank Okam 1
Colt Brennan 1
Quentin Groves 1
Dwight Lowery 1
Philip Merling 1

Yeah, I was going to stick my tongue firmly in my cheek and ask if anyone cared to recap them all for me.
Thanks a lot Chairman LMAO.

What idiot has us taking Colt Brennan at 10. Maybe the 10th or 11th best player at a position the Saints have little major need for?

Actually, oddly enough, I'm pretty sure the one that had us taking Brennan was the one that had us picking at 31 as well. So grain of salt and all...

The one with us taking Colt Brennan must have been made before the season, but why would be draft QB in the first?

Actually, I was only slightly joking. I was hoping to spark someone's curiosity as well. I wanted to sit and do this, but never could find the time to. Thanks for compiling.

Did you put the picks into a spreadsheet or something? I'd be interested in getting a copy. I have a link to a website with a bunch more Mock links and I'd like to update with those.

I have a feeling that we will nab a couple corners in free agency so that we don't have to pick one in the 1st round, then go with BPA....which I hope is a defensive tackle.

I think this post should be a sticky, because these mocks will be changing lots once free agency gets rolling and I think a lot of us are interested in what the 'expert' consensus is.

Nope. Didn't seem worth going to all that trouble. Just Notepad. 10-15 seconds per click, just backspaced and retyped the number next to the player's name. At the end, just arranged them in descending order and copy/paste. Low tech baby. :9:
