Thanks, I saw that. What qualifies as a game winning drive, though? Brees led the Saints on that 8 minute FG drive against the Eagles in 2006 to win the game 27-24. Why isn't that considered a game-winning drive, or did Skip Bayless get his facts wrong?

While watching the video, the first Eagles game of '06 came to mind. I hadn't even read your post yet. Great minds think alike. LOL

Skip Bayless is clueless on this one.

as always... Skip is the whole toolbox...

This is simply a not valid argument to compare quarterbacks.

- First, indeed Drew has done it.

- Second, Drew has put the saints in position to win the game in the fourth quarter, he is not responsible for the leg of Martin Grammatica.

- Third, Can they consider that Drew may not have been much in the situation of coming back from behind? Maybe when he wins he wins with a margin, same way he looses by a margin.

It has nothing to do with people around them, it has nothing to do with situation of the games, it has to do with constantly performing. That is what great quarterbacks do, if not, check Peyton and Brady.

Much a do about nothing....

This is not only a game winning drive, it is the quintesential game winning drive. Skip Clueless is a moron.

Brees has never led a GW drive?

Did anyone catch First Take yesterday? They had a segment asking whether you would want Breesus or Eli in a clutch situation. Everyones favorite devil's advocate, Skip Bayless, said that Brees had never led a game winning drive in the last 2 minutes or something to that effect. I find that hard to believe....anyone know fo sho? And now the obligatory....I don't have a link and i searched extensively and didn't see this in another thread.

thats because we're always winning :)

either that, or for the last 3 years he put us in the lead and the defense just let the other team march down the field... a few games last year remind me of that...

washington
denver (i think the D just gave it up after a blown call)
minnesota was a rough game all around
chicago
carolina (steve smith catch between harper and david...)

Unfortunately I think he is correct (I'm not sure about never, but I know it's not very often). I recall from last year that Brees only has a couple of 4th quarter comebacks EVER.

Seems to me that back in 2006, against the Eagles (don't remember if it was regular or post season, that whole season is a drunken blur ....) the Saints spent the final 8 minutes marching the length of the field for a game-winning field goal.

One of the absolute best demonstrations of clock management ever.
