To be a QB in Chip Kelly's offense you gotta do 2 things. YOu have to be able to make the short easy pass effieciently.......and you gotta be able to run. E.J. can do both of those quite well.
E.J. Manuel has seen a steady rise in the draft rankings thanks to his stellar Senior Bowl and work outs. He wouldn't need to start right away , although with Vick still around he might be pushed a little harder to get on that field quickly. Chip Kelly has stated he would love to Coach EJ and he also attempted to recruit him......so you just know he thinks he can run his offense. I do believe in the old adage "New Regimes Mean New QBs" , So Chip Kelly makes sure to get his QB of the future/present that he can hitch his wagon to and hopefully take him places.

Personally I have EJ Manuel ranked as my #1 QB. I don't think he's a come-in-start right away guy though. He needs to sit for a year , learn , be coached. If you do that , you might have something reallly special on your hands.

With the 36th pick, the Detroit Lions are proud to select:

Tank Carradine, DE, Florida State

The Detroit Lions released Kyle Vanden Bosch and lost Cliff Avril in FA. They are proud to select the first round talent in the early second, Tank Carradine. Carradine enjoyed a breakout season with Florida State after teammate Brandon Jenkins went down during the first game of the season. Carradine recorded 11 sacks and 13 tackles for a loss in his first 12 games, but Carradine also suffered a devistating injury, tearing his ACL against Florida on November 24th. Carradine has terrific size at 6'4 and 276 lbs. Carradine is explosive off the snap and uses his athleticism, size, and strong hands to work over his opponent. Carradine plays with excellent leverage which makes him a threat in the run and pass game.

With the 37th pick in the draft the Cincinnati Bengals select Eddie Lacy, RB, Alabama

5'11, 231

OVERVIEW

Lacey isn't likely to follow Trent Richardson and Mark Ingram into the first round, but he has shown enough natural running skills to go along with his bullish frame to prove he's hardly just a product of Alabama's terrific offensive line.
Lacey redshirted in 2009 but quickly flashed star potential once given an opportunity. In his first collegiate game (San Jose State), Lacey rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and he ended the year in similar fashion against a talented Michigan State squad in the Capital One Bowl by rushing for 86 yards, including touchdown scampers of 62 and 12 yards.

He emerged as the top backup behind Richardson in 2011, finishing second on the team with 674 yards (averaging 7.1 per attempt!) and seven touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 139 yards.

With Richardson now the focal point of the Cleveland Browns' offense, Lacey enjoyed a spectacular breakout junior season. Although overshadowed at times by true freshman TJ Yeldon, Lacy was strong down the stretch, with a career-high 181 rushing yards against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game followed by 140 rushing yards in the BCS title game, earning Offensive Player of the Game honors.

He finished the 2012 season with 1,322 rushing yards on 204 carries (6.5 average) and 17 touchdowns, earning First Team All-SEC honors.

Lacy projects as a starting running back in the NFL, similar to a more agile Michael Bush-type.

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS:
Has the leg drive to push the pile and keeps his legs churning through contact, often resulting in broken tackles. Lacey reads his blocks nicely, showing enough lateral agility to avoid defenders as well as the burst to stick his foot in the ground and accelerate through gaps quickly.

He's a well-built back, but shows good balance (including an often-used spin move) and athleticism (leaping ability) to surprise defenders anticipating that all he has is power. Runs tough and determined with an angry attitude to finish each run and pick up positive yardage.

WEAKNSESSES: Needs to stay healthy as he's been hampered at times with foot injuries (ankle sprains, turf toe). Put the ball on the ground a few times early in his career, but improved in this area.

COMPARES TO: Michael Bush, RB, Chicago Bears - Both have the power to run over defenders while also possessing surprisingly fluid feed for their big frames.

We've been in need of a feature back for a while now, and Eddie Lacy has all the traits we look for in the position, power, speed, physical running, the kid is a beast! He can take hits, run through defenders, has good vision through the tackles and finds angles. He's the kind of player who can give our offense an explosive spark.

There is a trade in the works for the Cardinals pick stand by.....

Cardinals select Jamie Collins OLB

Cardinals finally have someone to replace Joey Porter, Collins has experience as a 3-4 OLB and excelled at getting sacks and TFL's.
He is a physical specimen. He set the combine broad jump record with 139" and a vertical of 41.5"

STRENGTHS Presents a long, lean frame that NFL teams look for in a stand-up pass rusher. Quick feet and long strides help him close on quarterbacks, move down the line to crash on runs, as well as give him the short-area agility to move in coverage with slot receivers for short periods despite his height and length. Short area quickness, and the ability to redirect in an instant. Power hands at times. Capable of shedding in either direction to contain or fill a gap. Knows to knock receivers at the line and crossers off their routes with his strong arm extension. Has the length to wrap up ballcarriers trying to avoid him in the backfield, as well as grab backs running away from him.

Since the trade with the Cards fell through the 49ers are looking to trade up for a specific palyer. So many picks but not enough room on the roster for all of them.
