We need another DT the caliber of Sheldon Rankins and also a legit pass rusher.
All of the other positions mentioned here would be luxury picks.

Yeah we need somebody to pair with Rankins on passing downs. A Nick Fairley type player would be nice.

Jk lol

Easier said than done, but honestly, we're 5-6 players in FA from another championship (OG, TE, DE, DT, OLB, CB). I wouldn't mind another WR and Eric Berry in FA and draft Fournette...But hey, I can dream.

I'd really like to see CB addressed in FA and the draft. No more of this ****. We better keep drafting corners every damn year too for eternity

This offseason with fairley and kruger leaving, we'll need to address DT and DE. I wouldn't mind adding another LB either.

Ezekiel ansah, jamie collins, chandler jones or dante hightower would be amazing.

I actually still have a ton of faith in stephone Anthony. Plus i believe onyamata will turn into a beast. If we could snag an elite edge rusher with a decent lb we could be serious.

A few musings that coincide with 2017 FA:

There is depth and youth all across this team, and there are already elite players at 5 of the 6 positions of paramount importance. QB, LT, WR, #1 CB, & 3Tech. Pass Rusher is the only one missing. With the talent on this team at DE, the Saints might not need a full time DE, but could get away with a pass rush specialist. Platoon them with Edebali or Onyemata, while rotating Cam and Rankins inside and Kikaha on the edge as well, and you have a nice little pass rush package. But, it would be nice if the new pass rusher addition was a flat out stud, even if that was his only real "trick" and he only really played in pass rush situations. The skill is that important. This is a 3rd & 4th down league. Winning on 1st & 2nd down are great and all, and they do set you up for a more predictable 3rd down (and 4th down late in the game) play call. But in today's NFL where even the stiff QB's can slide in the pocket, others can kill you with their legs, and the refs have 147 different possible penalties that they can call against your defense to give the offense an automatic 1st down, you can lose on 1st & 2nd down pretty regularly, IF you can flat out bring it on 3rd & 4th (all downs for the trailing team late in the game are basically the same "format" as well). All that said, you have to have a ton of CB's, a ton of pass rushers, and a LB (or 2) who can contain a mobile QB. I think the Saints already have all of these, again, minus the #1 pass rusher.

I don't think you have to break the bank for LB's, considering Roberson and Anthony are both in house for the next few years. Just get the "right" guys in with them.

Obviously we'll know more at the end of the year about health, talent, and growth, but Breaux and PJ could very well be the cornerstone boundary CB's while Bell and KV are going to be plenty at S. But, as we have so recently seen, depth here is critical. Perhaps spending good money on the best slot CB available this offseason wouldn't be a bad idea. Allow Crawley and crew a little time to grow into boundary CB's, but specifically groom a slot guy. Swann may come back really strong next year considering the extra time to heal from his concussions, who knows?

Armstead, Unger, and Peat are the foundation, with a really talented set of all skill positions around them. The real question is, at what permanent position do the coaches see Peat? Only with that answer can you predict the draft/FA strategy towards OG's/OT's. Personally, OG's are cheaper and easier to find in both FA and the draft. You drafted an OT, you have to at least give him 1 real season at RT to see what you have. Sign the best OG FA that there is, LG or RG, whatever, and then go into the draft knowing that OG is a first 3 round priority.

PASS on them all, get the cap right , keep our good players and draft better,
