Going forward, our quarterback situation compared to that of the other teams in the NFC South is at best troubling. The NFC South next season will likely be the only division in football where every team has a current or future top-tier quarterback. But the scary part, of course, is that Drew will be 38 going on 39, Ryan 32, Newton 28 and Winston 23. And replacing Drew will be a huge challenge because there are drafts that don't produce a single really good quarterback, and because, as evidenced by where Newton, Winston and Ryan were picked, it is hard to find a top quarterback after the first few picks.
But it comes the provocative question: Where will the 2017 previews rank Drew among the NFC South quarterbacks. I suspect many will have him second behind Ryan and a good number third behind Ryan and Newton. And in 2018 if Drew returns? That goes to the opening comments.
