He could definitely prove to be just as capable when the pads come on. I thought he looked tense and very powerful in his run, so it could have been just a poor time and he may not lose as much speed when pads come on compared to other guys...

But 4.47 and 4.27 is a HUGE difference in speed, 10 yard split or not.

His stride and track history actually has me expecting him to be better in the back half of the 40, as those guys tend to be bigger striders who beat guys with maintaining top speed, as opposed to acceleration. That said, his awesome vert would suggest great burst.

I feel like he will have a great shuttle, and average 3 cone (I thought he looked a little tight in the hips and didn't see TCU asking him to run very many technical routes). I only watched his highlights and 1 or 2 regular season games without all-22 though.
We like to think it's a huge difference but acceleraton and gaining body position at the top of routes matters more than pure speed at the next level.

Antonio Brown ran a 4.48 but was 20lbs lighter than Reagor.

Reagor also reminds me a bit of Reggie Wayne and Christian Kirk in build and play-making ability but his vertical is much better.

Claypool with a 40" vertical too???

Incredible.

Can't say Im surprised by Reagor so much as I am by Ruggs and Peoples-Jones.

Thats nuts.

This wr class is shaping up to be more impressive than 2014 already.
I’m not surprised by DPJ at all. He’s an unbelievable athlete. But he needs to refine his route running and play bigger/stronger. I thought he was one of the best high school receivers I had ever graded. He has untapped potential but needs development.

Yikes. 4.51 for Ceedee Lamb

It will not hurt him; he’s not a blazer and this is the time a lot of scouts expected. It matches the tape.
Dang, that's definitely gonna hurt Laviska's stock
I still think he’s a late first to second rounder. Coming off an injury, I do not think this time will hurt him.

Love killed it tonight. Rapoport and Charles Robinson from Yahoo are both saying he could go top 10.

Saints like Love and Tua.

I can't wait to start plugging this data into my spreadsheet for the receivers. Some guys who had the physical measurables are blowing away the agility/speed and explosiveness tests.

It is a huge difference, especially for a 40. At a top speed of 22 mph (good top speed for an NFL on field sprint and about where I'd expect explosive speed threats to be at 30-40 yds), a 0.2s difference is ~5.87 ft. That is nearly 2 yards of separation at that distance. In the NFL, that is the difference in Elite speed, vs Average speed at the WR position.

I do agree that acceleration and body positioning matters more than pure speed at the NFL level.

AB's 40 time and body weight isn't really that important. He wasn't an incredible WR because he was an incredible athlete by NFL standards. He was instead an incredible route technician, a la Mike Thomas, who forced defenders to respect the whole route tree. He's what people hope Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, and those types turn into. If you think Reagor has that type of route running acumen and agility, then his 4.47 is plenty good enough. If not, his 4.47 looks a bit disappointing.

I'm really bummed we didn't get to see Laviska Shenault run routes. I was really looking forward to seeing how he looked in a more traditional WR setting.

According to PFF Reagor beat people deep more often and by more yards than Jeudy did in 2018.

I posted the article here yesterday somewhere.

Whatever the case, Reagor is exceptional at getting open deep.

That is very believable. Beating people deep isn't really Jeudy's game. His specialty is more short and intermediate.

Here it is.

From 2018:

"Unlike most deep threats, Reagor is far from a one-trick pony. He only dropped five of 76 catchable passes last season, converted 15-of-31 contested-catch opportunities and broke 11 tackles. At 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, Reagor is the prototype for where the game is headed for the receiving position in the NFL. At this time next year, don’t be surprised if we’ve heard both Jeudy and Reagor’s names called within the first 10 picks of the draft."

"TCU’s Jalen Reagor would have put up similar eye-popping numbers to Jeudy if the former had a quarterback like Tu’a Tagovailoa. The Horned Frogs quarterback trio of Shawn Robinson, Michael Collins and Grayson Muehlstein combined for almost twice as many turnover-worthy plays (27) as big-time throws (15). TCU passers threw accurate passes at the fourth-lowest rate of any Power-5 program. The fact that Reagor still put up 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns is a minor miracle with how often he was missed badly with tons of separation like the play below.

JalenReagorMiss.gif

That alone was 79 yards left on the field, and it didn’t stop there. Reagor actually had more targets 10-plus yards downfield with more than two yards of separation than Jeudy (26 vs. 24), but only 13 catches on them compared to 18 for Jeudy. When it comes to separating, Reagor is arguably the best at it in the class"

Jauan Jennings pulled a Jarvis Landry/Anquan Boldin with a. 4.72 and a 29" vertical.

He doesn't run the best routes but he might make for a decent slot guy.

Let's kick this thing off.

ALBERT OKWUEGBUNAM

Is the news of today.

At 6'5 258 he just ran an official 4.49 40

Steven Sullivan of LSU measured 35"+ arms and also ran a 4.6 as did Cole Komet.

Awaiting verticals and 3 cones.

Qbs and wrs have yet to work out.

Sullivan is an athletic freak, he has all the measurables.

It was kind of expected he would impress today.

It's just been the inconsistent play on the field and injuries that has people worried
