2022 Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

Okay I'll play. First of all two things we all can agree on is that the Saints value Ohio State players and the Saints have an obvious need at WR. So if you think that the Saints are going to draft Burks over Olave and Wilson your crazy. These are the WRs better than Burks:

1. Garrett "Backshoulders" Wilson - all he does is separate and catch backshoulder passes / Calvin Ridley clone
2. Jameson Williams - hurt, will drop due to injury, but FAAAASSSSSSSTTTTTTTT
3. Chris "The Separator" Olave - best all around player
4. Drake London - Mean SOB / Mike Evans clone
5. Drake Bell - Dude plays just like NYG's Odell Beckham Jr.

Dream scenario for me: 1st. Jordan Parker 2nd A. Drake Bell 2nd B. Trey McBride / sign WR Mike "Treylon Burks" Williams / insert Bridgewater, Winston, Pornstar Jimmy = Championship
Never Said that the Saints would draft anyone over anyone. You again continue to project YOUR opinion into what the SAINTS may or may not agree with. You never know what order a team may have players on their board. I've seen teams take players early over what others thought was the obvious pick... and sometimes that works for them because they have scouted the player. So unless you are the new director of college scouting for the SAINTS your opinion is just that. There are other factors that go into that choice that you don't seem to consider. Character, football IQ, and coachability are a few. You say that the five guys that are listed will go before Burks, or, in YOUR opinion are better than Burks. I say that you are speculating and will most likely be wrong in your predictions, as the draft is a fickled thing. You never know who teams have rated higher. I like London as well, but if Burks's combine performance is better, particularly his 40 time, then he may come off the board much higher. Or a team may just like the way he looks Physically, you just never know. So stop acting like you do and that your opinion is worth more than the next guy who may not agree with you. Not saying you shouldn't have an opinion, just realize that it is only one of many

Garrett Wilson would fit perfectly. Dude has quite the double move for a college WR. Not to mention his footwork is very smooth. Noticed you mentioned Trey McBride. I’d love to see us draft him, but I’m sure someone else will scoop him up. Too bad this is a weak QB class bc a lack of QBs, only pushes these skills positions players up the draft board.

Looks like you didn't read my KDF's 2021 Saints Draft review when I hit on all our picks on how they would project during the season. Not to mention just a month ago I broke down all the WRs after not knowing who they are or even watching any of their games just to have my rankings match up to these so called experts ( I surprised myself with that one). I won't lie to you I never knew or seen Garrett Wilson play before I started studying his film, but I was the first on this board screaming his praises. Is this all coincidence, I don't know. But I was right about Greg Newsome II, I was right about Chris Godwin, I was right about Brandon Aiyuk, all players I mocked to the Saints. I at least for sake for argument I know what I'm talking about, if I'm just respected in that manner thats cool with me because I respect everyone on this board. Like i told another poster, remember at the end of the day we are all fans of the same team and want another Championship for our club.

No quarterback in this draft our receivers were the problem.

Pick 18---Trevor Burk
WR Arkansas best receiver available at that pick with the injury of Jameson Williams

Pick 49---Darian Kinnard
OT/OG Kentucky
I also like Zion Johnson
and would take a chance
on Daniel Faalele I fear he carries too much weight.

Pick 98 and 99 compensatory picks
Cade York Kicker LSU our present kickers will lose us games.
Charlie Kolar TE Iowa State we need additional receiver help.

Sorry no defensive help. Maybe we can get some defense depth in free agency.

What you think?

Appreciate the mock man, and respect that you took time out of your day to put this together for us. All Love!
Here's some of my input.

1. I love Treylon Burks, in your description you say "Best receiver available bc of Jameson Williams injury" I think if Garrett Wilson is there we absolutely can't pass up on him. If he's not, I like Burks a lot, and wouldn't mind it

2. I don't mind Kinnard, but I don't think he's gonna be there at 49. 49 isn't really a good spot in this draft to get an O Lineman. I think at 49 there will be better players at other positions that we can take advantage of, that is if we stay put at 49. This draft has pretty good depth at O Line, and we could probably pick up the same value in the 4th.

3.I don't think there is any reason to draft a Kicker in the 3rd round (really any round other then the 7th) when we have Will Lutz on the roster. Yes I understand he was hurt this year, but he is a franchise Kicker. We could bring plenty talented UDFA kickers in for training camp. No need to waste a draft pick on one, when we can use that premium pick on a player that could possibly make an impact.

Don’t think we need a DT at all. We had a nice 4 man rotation wit DO, Shy, Ringo n Huggins. We still have Roach, and another DT whose name escapes me, but man, he was huge, like 6’7” n ova 300 lbs, but he got hurt in the last preseason game I think he tore something in his arm. But he was playing well! Will also have Tanoh back who can play DT as well. I think we’re in good shape there!
Are you thinking of Jalen Dalton. He's been on IR all season, and we just signed Braxton Hoyett to a reserve futures contract and we have a FA named Ethan Westbrooks.

Yeah, that’s him. I knew he was lost for the season. But I thought he played well enough in preseason to earn a spot in the DT rotation. I thought he played the run fairly well. But at about 6’6” n ova 300 lbs, I thought he was also able to get some nice pressure inside as a pass rusher. Unfortunately, he ended up gettin hurt n was lost for the season. Dunno if he’ll even b back, but I liked wat I saw.

On a side note:

FACT: As SOON as I saw that Dalton played in college at UNC, the FIRST name that popped in my head was…. Ryan Nielsen!!!! Coach Nielsen was more than just an excellent D line Coach at NC ST! He was also a helluva D line recruiter! N sure nuff, according to Dalton, Nielsen DID try to recruit him to come to NCSt! When it comes to DTs, the man simply knows talent n the kind of player he’s lookin for!

Side note: Coach Nielsen also heavily recruited, but eventually lost out on another current Saints DT, in Shy Tuttle!

Like I said. man know his stuff!!!
