3 pm press conference today Saints facility... (1 Viewer)

I'm wondering if Sean's in a place where he knows that by X's and O's, by motivation, discipline, scheme, by all objective measures, he's the best chance for the Saints but after the No-Call, having Saints Opponent being the cleanest team in the league for years in a row and finally the Dolphins game where Covid immediately ceased to exist as soon as the Saints were successfully screwed, the subjective obstacles he brings (Goodell's ongoing vendetta) outweigh the good he can do.

Wait, I missed that part. He completely shut down coaching the Saints again?
He didn’t explicitly say this. It’s more based on the absolute thoroughness of this goodbye and departure.

He’s alluded to “ready for the next thing” he just doesn’t know what it is yet.

So it feels like he’s just ready for something different.

Sean Payton is giving me another experience I'd never thought I'd have as a Saints fan. A coach going out on his own terms and I'm feeling sad about it. Every Saints coach since I've been a fan has either quit or gotten fired and I was usually glad to see him go.
I was curious if there was a celebration when Haslett was canned.
