I found this interesting. The following links are about as accurate as I can find online regarding the cap money spent by each team. The Saints' cap money does not include some of the recent signings, so it's probably about 3 million higher than the "bottom line" figure. I don't follow what the 9ers are doing that much, but their current figure is actually above the cap.

I am posting this because apparently the 9ers are in worse shape than the Saints, and a certain CB with the initials NA is currently having a debate with himself as to which team to join.

They probably have an unspoken agreement with Goodell like the DeBartolo years where they didn't have to follow the cap. They will forever be cheaters in my eyes as they weren't playing on a level playing field FO-wise in the late 80s/early 90s...

Making an offer based on projected value doesn't have much to do with how much money you have to spend, right? We are not talking about NA from 3 or 4 years ago who was in a position to demand more, the reason he is torn is because SF and NO have offered him contracts based on his value which is summarily lower than anything he is willing to accept. His agent is probably trying to play both ends.

Like the situation with Sharper the Saints should stand firm and wait for NA to blink, if the Whiners were smart they would do the same. I really don't see the Saints or SF offering significantly more than projected value.

Punter Andy Lee at 4M cap hit in 2013.

It is now. It wasn't posted when I started this thread. The total cap was in the 117 million range at that time. Neither were Humber's or Roby's figures there this morning. These guys post numbers as soon as they have them, which is why I like this site. Will Herring's number is not there yet, though, but I think it won't amount to much.
