Saints 49ers fans are giving us ZERO chance at winning... (1 Viewer)

If the niners were struggling mightily to beat teams with losing records, would we fear them? Cuz that's what we're doing. A win's a win and all but how does a fan of a team who's coming off of destroying an 8-2 team NOT think that they're gonna play well against a team that spread its cheeks, lubed up, and hopped over a barrel for most of the 4th quarter against a 3-8 team?

On no planet is being up 3 scores with 6 minutes left last night "struggling mightily to beat teams with losing records."

On no planet are you addressing what I posted. You're acting like we didn't go into a prevent D shell and give up two score and two onside kicks. Just stop.

One of the many reasons that franchise stays at the top of my list of most hated teams.

It's almost as if teams in prevent trying to burn clock aren't showing you who they really are, which is what we learned when the D forced a turnover on downs at the end of the game.

My point was that they're completely reasonable not fearing us due to how we've performed against nobodies.

I get what you're saying, but playing down to lesser opponents has kind of been the Saints M.O. for years. It's always the weaker teams that worry me. I believe the team will be fired up when it's time to play the 9ers, however.

Stop trying to play both sides of the fence. We don't get a pass for rolling over on defense and ST. Just cuz Payton's head over heels in love with the abomination that is prevent, it doesn't mean we didn't struggle at the end.

Early in the year I had some serious doubts about the whiners, but have to admit that they are a formidable team who deserve their lofty ranking. The Saints can absolutely beat them in the Dome, but it is going to take an effort by all three phases of the team and an outstanding game plan by Coach Payton to mitigate their front 7, something he is outstanding at. I do like that we have an extra few days to game plan and get healed up, particularly Armstead, and that the whiners will have to fly this weekend to Baltimore and then again next week across country to play us.

Take your own advice. We beat the Falcons thoroughly, on the road, on four days rest last night. Any team that is up three scores with six minutes did not "struggle mightily" to win. No one gives a crap about garbage points. The fact that you can't recognize that is a you problem.

This is the NFL. As the 49ers themselves have learned, you can't count on dominating division rivals. Any 49ers fan that saw that game last night and thinks "welp, we are certainly going to go into the Super Dome and win after the Saints get 10 days rest" is a freaking moron. Confidence in one's team is fine. Being an idiot is another.

But what does that have to do with why 49er fans should have any reason to fear us? They see a 10-2 team that has eeked out their last two victories, almost let TB back in the game after jumping to a 20-0 lead, and took an entire half to wake up against ARZ. If SF had those as their most recent 4 victories as well as an embarrassment against a 1-7 team as their resume over the last 5 games, would you be cowering before them?

Did you gouge your own eyes out after we went up 26-9? What you're saying is basically the equivalent of an alcoholic saying they stayed sober cuz they didn't drink until they got home from work.
