5 Teams That Should At Least Consider Trading Their Franchise QB (Yup, Drew is on the list..) (1 Viewer)

If the Saints had a bona fide QB-in-waiting, this could make some sense. They don't. And the cap relief isn't likely to translate into a better outcome over the next couple of seasons than keeping him.

His definition of franchise quarterback is really loose. Tannehill? Brock Osweiler? Is he for real?

Dude:

Brett Pollakoff is Sporting News' sneakers and NBA apparel writer.

How is Smoking Jay Cutler not on this list if Osweiler and Tannehill are on it?!?

And how is this guy not a Browns QB yet!?!

There are, however, a few caveats to the new contract that leave open potential options for both the Saints and Brees. One of the options includes an automatic void of the contract after year two, which only requires the Saints to pay the guaranteed money. Additionally, the Saints cannot place a franchise tag on Brees at any point in the duration of the contract. The organization also cannot trade Brees, since the contract includes a no-trade clause.

Moot article.

From the article said:
especially now that the 37-year-old is playing in his 16th NFL season, and probably can't keep playing at such a high level for much longer.

This here is the rub...right? Seems like he's showing no signs of slowing down.

There is no team that would be willing to take Osweiller and that contract.

The only one possible or realistic is Dallas trading Romo. The Bears and Browns would be interested in him.

stupid, Brady is older, not as good a QB, but might get more on the Market for him, Rogers is at his maximum, trade him before the fall, Wilson , you might have missed the best time to trade him by a year, same with newton

Exactly. It seems clear that they have doubts about Grayson at the very least.

No chance. Next year is the year it all sets up nicely for us.

Whoever makes these lists forgets that the same persons who would potentially acquire draft choices for Drew are the *** clowns who take high risk luxury choices, trade away and squander multiple picks, when they have dire need for immediate contributors and an influx of competent youth. They're the same guys who have repeatedly swung and missed no matter the resources invested at DB, who refuse to hire a DL and LB coach that actually has a ******* clue what talent looks like and how to develop it, and the same guys who have had the same needs for a decade, yet have drafted piss poor, and have very little clue what value is when actually giving guys a contract.

If we could trade Drew for a real GM who actually knows how to evaluate talent, coaches and staff included (as well as hold them accountable) and let our pretend GM have some pacifying President title, I'll be down with that.

Otherwise, tell these columnist to shut the **** up, becuase Drew is the ONLY reason that dome fills up, the ONLY reason we watch to the bitter end. PERIOD. And left to the clowns who are picking and "developing" the talent, there is no hope.

Don't sugar coat it, Son. Tell us how you really feel.

I'd sit though 3 more 7-9 seasons with Drew than trade him. He's one of the greatest, you just don't trade those guys.
