6 RBs... really?? (1 Viewer)

Murphy I'm sure is on a pretty short leash. I'm sure it won't take more than 2 fumbles and it will be 5 RBs with Cadet being the return guy.

Would be more strategic if we would cut cadet and Hightower and have them on standby since it appears that no other team has shown interest in them this offseason. We could have a handshake deal with them that we sign them for some games as needed. RB PRN

Could use roster spots for another OL or 2.

Run Run Run....Les Miles has given Payton his advice

If preseason was a preview of things to come, then expect to see: I Formation 2 back set, Strong I formation and shotgun with 3 WRs....in that order.

I see this Rb group being use like old system.
Ingram is the RB
Spiller is change of pace/breather and passing down back
Cadet screen back

Hightower is backup for Ingram
Lasco is the special teams gunner
Murphy is the return specialist.

Even though it is 6 guys, Lasco and Murphy will not see much if any time outside of special teams.

I read a article today about Spiller being the return man.. So my point is what is the use of having Cadet?? Dont get me wrong I like his hands out of the backfield but thats pretty much it.. Do u guys think that a trade of Ingram is something to look out for because honestly i think Hightower should be the bell cow cause he seems to have more explosiveness than MI..

Didn't Murphy and Lasco suffer concussions? If those injuries are still lingering I'm guessing that's why there are so many right now. Maybe Cadet gets cut after they get back 100%...

Cadet can split out and run routes like a WR so there is some value in having him around there, in addition he will be one of your best special teamers obviously. Honestly I think this is just one of those weird week 1 things though. He's one of those guys who will probably be on and off the roster all year long. The other 5 guys, without a doubt, all earned their spots, although I'm a little surprised they didn't do the typical IR stash with Lasco.

He didn't forget anything. He said running backs, not "backs." Kuhn is not a running back. Kuhn is a fullback.

Actually they're all running backs. In today's game, the guys who carry the ball and line up deep behind the QB are called tailbacks or halfbacks, guys that typically lead block and line up close behind the QB are fullbacks. The designations just refer to where they line up on the field. But they're all running backs, in the same way that bourbon and scotch and Irish whiskey are all whiskey.

Hell I'm old enough to remember a time when the fullback was usually the #2 running back on the team. Larry Csonka, John Riggins, even Jim Brown - all fullbacks.

Cadet is the best receiving back. Spiller your stretch runner. Ingram Early down back with some receiving ability. Lasco great athlete/gunner future potential. Murphy return specialist.

it's meaningless. This is for special teams we are carrying less cb's or lb's or safeties. and one is a return guy (and a return man is often a wr or secondary player) Has nothing to do with our running game
