Does anyone remember this loss? I didn't look it up online but I remember walking through the old City Park Storyland as a young boy with my transistor radio pressed hard against my ear listening to my beloved Saints being trashed by the merciless Falcons.

I say this year

NO MERCY!!!

Wasn't that also the score of the Dolphins-Jaguars playoff game. Last game for both Marino and Jimmy Johnson.

Would you be for Payton running up the score on any team if we had the chance a la New England, Indy or even (the ole Falcons)?

I remember it well. I was both mad and depressed at the same time.

And that's a shame for a 13 year old kid. :mecry:

I'm still waiting for a 55+ win in revenge. I've been waiting for 36 years. I hope we get revenge before Shiner passes on.

It is satisfying to finally say that our Saints are closer than ever to the ultimate NFL goal. I am thankful that days like Dempsey's field goal and ummmm...

Oh well, I guess that's why we are so elated that this year is so sweet.

Yep, was there.

No! Teams remember things like that, and will get payback when they have a chance. And with the amount of personnel turnover in the NFL, it may take only a season or two to go from outhouse to penthouse, or vice versa.

Bryan... I've GOT to believe that at some time in the early years we were cheering together as kids on those old wooden bleacher benches in Tulane Stadium.

Was there anything more glorious than a clear, crisp autumn afternoon in that huge bowl of humanity on a Sunday afternoon. Add the sounds of Al Hirt and his band and the pagentry of the halftime shows back then, and it practically makes me shed a tear just thinking about it.
All we needed back then was a team like we have now.

Wow!... Pardon me while I go get a hankie. :very_happy:

I remember it all too well. 1st game of the season, full of positive (false) expectations, just a horrible game. I remember thinking, "My God, how many points is enough!"

You are right, the Falcons showed no mercy what-so-ever. Saints got skull-drugged. It wouldn't bother my conscience one bit if the Saints returned the favor Monday night.

I remember this sentiment exactly. An I share your feelings deep down about Monday night....BUT, I also agree with those that say what goes around comes around.

Remember, Payton has already kneeled down to end a game in the redzone, leaving points on the field.

Geaux Saints
