You know, I think I had "reversed psychologied" myself (and that's painful) into not thinking he was great because I don't want to have LSU bias, but brother, he's a monster. I hope his stock keeps falling.

Before I start, let me say that I REALLY want Dorsey or Ellis and think that they are the dream picks to fall to us at 10. However, one thing to remember...

What has not really been brought up a lot about both Dorsey and Ellis, but needs to be mentioned is that they will NOT outright dominate O-linemen the way they did in college. The size and technique of NFL O-linemen are significantly ahead of college. Particularly important is the technique of the DT.

They need to know how to hold off linemen and make the tackle as the RB tries to slip through. Also they need to have the right technique to get past O-linemen to disrupt the offensive plays behind the line of scrimmage that they used to just use their size and speed to do. Pure athleticism will not work as well in the NFL. O-linemen are just that much better.

I'm not saying that Dorsey or Ellis will not be good DTs and have great careers, but I am saying that whether they are lineman eaters or disrupters behind the line of scrimmage is going to depend highly on how much dedication they have to studying, practicing technique and getting better every day. The reason that Dorsey and Ellis are so highly valued is because they were able to disrupt offenses behind the line of scrimmage in college. It might not have even resulted in them getting a stat, but maybe someone else getting a stat. (sack or tackle behind the line)

That's the true value of these guys and I am hopeful that we get one of them and they are dedicated enough to do it in the NFL as well. But let's be honest, they may not be able to walk in day one and do these things. It all depends on dedication and motor.
