I’d Replace Higgins with Aiyuk in the first. Higgins just seems so limited to me.

Also not sure on Fulton or Delpit. I’d probably add in Ruiz or even Robert Hunt ahead of them.

Thankfully, there are enough really good prospects that someone good will be there.

Good idea .. much better than mock drafts.

This is generally how I start making mock drafts and they can become fairly accurate. I’ve just been behind this year.

I like to establish clouds for each round and start observing trends. Who’s falling and how often? Who’s going early and how often? What combinations am I liking and do these young players compliment each other? Where is the value of each position relative to each round? What happens when I make intentionally poor picks? so on and so forth.

With these clouds, I like going LB early unless a stud WR is there. There is some depth at LB, but I feel like it’s quietly one of our biggest needs which is why I’m liking Queen or Murray - I also feel like the WR drop off is larger after round 1. I feel like the OL value is in rounds 2-4. There are several options at TE, but they’ll all need development. I’m not blown away by many DL or DB prospects within our range, but a few late round guys could make great additions to the bottom of the roster.

with this board I’m liking either:

1: Jefferson | 3: Brooks,Harrison, or Davis

or

1: Queen / Murray | 3: Trautman or Clyde

I really doing think we’re going QB, unless my boy Coach Pete pulls through, but I do think Love is in our cloud. I haven’t watched much of his film, but he reminds me of a poor mans Mahomes. I could see us selecting him if other needs are taken or passing then finding a way to trade into the early second if we really like him and he falls. Personally, I think we’re riding Drew until the wheels fall off then allowing Taysom to be that bridge.

Delpit is a SS and the Saints already have two SS, both of which are better than Delpit. If the Saints go safety, it should be a free safety who can complete with Williams.

There are a ton of WR targets in just about every round of this draft.

Fair.

I think Delpit could easily find a spot on our roster though. The way I see it is we’ve got 3 safeties that can play SS, FS, or Slot (2 of which can play corner) and 1 true FS. He definitely wouldn’t be my top choice, but if the dice roll that way I wouldn’t be mad at it. I think we’ll be looking for a DB to compete at the very least with Bell leaving and Jenkins not being a long term fix.

I tried doing something like this before and it’s so hard cause they have so many receivers that it’s hard to pin point which round they will go in. So I go with 10 instead of 8.

mine(I go from 1st to last want):

Round 1 (Linebacker, preferably a MIKE)

1. Kenneth Murray LB OU
2. Patrick Queen LB LSU
3. Zach Baun LB Wisconsin
4. Trevon Diggs CB Bama
5. Justin Jefferson WR LSU
6. Kristian Fulton CB LSU
7. A.J. Terrell CB Clemson
8. Grant Delpit S LSU (I think he play FS)
9. Tee Higgins WR Clemson
10. Jordan Love QB Utah St

Round 3 (Shenault, Eason, or corner)

1. Laviska Shenault WR Colorado (I want him to fall to this pick so bad. He has that toughness I want, but that is also the reason he gets hurt though, taking on tacklers)
2. Jacob Eason QB Washington (the only QB I truly want well besides Burrow, Tua, or Herbert)
3. Reggie Robinson II CB Tulsa
4. Troy Pride CB Notre Dame
5. Troy Dye LB Oregon
6. Jordyn Brooks LB Texas Tech
7. Bryce Hall CB Virginia
8. Lynn Bowden WR Kentucky
9. Michael Pittman Jr WR USC
10. Devin Duvernay WR Texas

Round 4 (corner or receiver depending on earlier picks)

1. Joe Reed WR Virginia (I would like to get him in the 5th)
2. Michael Ojemudia CB Iowa
3. John Hightower WR Boise St
4. Quartney Davis WR Texas A&M
5. Albert O TE Missouri
6. Lamar Jackson CB Nebraska
7. Harrison Hand CB Temple
8. Malik Harrison LB Ohio St
9. Anfernee Jennings LB Bama
10. Jacob Phillips LB LSU

Round 5 (receiver, corner, Deguara, Sullivan, SAM LB, DE, OT)

1. Josh Pearson WR Jax St
2. Dezmon Patmon WR Washington St
3. Freddie Swain WR Florida
4. Joshua Deguara FB/TE Cincy
5. Stephen Sullivan TE LSU
6. Lavert Hill CB Michigan
7-10. BPA

Round 6 (SAM LB, TE, QB, OT, DE)
1-10: BPA

Im pretty sure that CJGJ is the long term answer after Jenkins. I honestly don’t think Delpit would help the Saints much in 2020.

The picks I want the most at their projected value are Tyler Johnson in the 4th & Lamical Perine with that last pick NO has in the draft.

I think if you can add those players at those picks and spend 24, 88 & 169 on defense and OL it’d be hard for me to not be happy with the draft.

Something like:

Patrick Queen
Kyle Dugger
Tyler Johnson
Kevin Dotson
Lamical Perine

Or even something like:

Josh Jones
Troy Dye
Tyler Johnson
Alton Robinson
Lamical Perine

I’d be so giddy

I also feel like the WR drop off is larger after round 1. I feel like the OL value is in rounds 2-4.

Funny I've been hearing the opposite for the most part.

If you need a tackle you want the top 5 guys or nothing. If you miss a WR early there are plenty to grab later.

I’m talking specifically where we are and assuming we’re staying put. I feel like the top OL will be gone, but the second wave of them are all pretty similar.

I’m admittedly, not as deep into this class as years prior.
